Geographical position of Qazvin: Qazvin province, which is located in the central part of Iran with an area of 158,210 square kilometers, is limited to Hamedan and Zanjan provinces from the west, to Markazi province from the south and to Alborz province from the east. Qazvin has four climatic conditions. A: cold mountainous climate, B: temperate climate of foothills, C: relatively dry to semiarid climate of central areas, D: humid tropical climate. Qazvin is a historical city with a long history and has played a significant role in term of economic and communication point of view. With the transformation of Qazvin into a strategic agricultural center and the creation of industrial towns, especially the Alborz industrial city, the city has experienced population growth. Qazvin province is one of the richest provinces in the country in terms of mineral resources. Existence of active mines in three parts of metal and non-metal and building stones and also the existence of potential mineral reserves in different parts of the province can play a significant role in creating employment and completing the missing links in the industrial development of the province. Qazvin province is one of the important agricultural hubs in the country due to its favorable climatic conditions, abundant arable lands and rich groundwater and surface water resources. Also, Qazvin plain has very fertile lands and can be exploited for the production of various agricultural products and livestock activities. Qazvin province has a considerable potential in the industrial sector, which has made it one of the industrial hubs and on par with industrial provinces such as Tehran, Isfahan, Khorasan Razavi and East Azerbaijan. However, the small role of the province in non-oil exports, especially industrial exports, is also worth considering.
The traditional gardens that surround Qazvin like a green ring in Iran and can be boldly said in the world is a unique example of the formation and management of the border between the city and nature outside the city. This complex of fruitful gardens, which are traditionally managed, is a bed with various functions for the city of Qazvin. Qazvin traditional gardens in different dimensions are important to study.Cultural landscape and indigenous landscape are unique to gardens at the national level, as well as the traditional irrigation system of these gardens, which was registered in 2017 as «Indigenous knowledge of water distribution in Qazvin gardens» in the list of national monuments. Higher education in Qazvin province has been constantly growing. Proximity to the capital (Tehran) and favorable climate have given the opportunity to grow this socio-economic feature.
